It seems like monitor manufacturers are finally starting to move away from TN panels with recent arrivals of several affordable IPS panel based displays from a wide range of manufacturers. ViewSonic has joined the fray with its new VX2336s-LED model which as the name implies features an LED backlit IPS panel featuring what ViewSonic calls SuperClear IPS technology.
It's not easy to stay competitive in the world of tablets and we're a little bit perplexed about ViewSonic's latest model, the ViewPad 10e. Unlike its previous 10-inch models, the 10e has a 9.7-inch IPS panel with 1024x768 resolution, yes, that's the same as the iPad. The overall specification puts the ViewPad 10e in the affordable section which is at least something.

Interested in getting a 3D display? Then ViewSonic might have something worth waiting a little while for as the company was showing off two new 3D displays at Computex. On has a built in IR emitter for Nvidia's 3D Vision technology and the other one uses passive glasses, but looked rather much better than previous passive displays we've seen.
Call us presumptuous people, but there are times where impatience may turn out to be an asset instead of a liability, and it seems that major trade fairs and exhibitions such as Computex have a knack for proving us correct about such assumptions. As it turns out, TAITRA has held a Pre-Show International Press Conference at the Taipei International Convention Centre (TICC) today, where it not only announced various key events, but also gave the media a sneak peak into some of the new products that will be making their debut in this year's Computex. Seems like good things do not only come to those who have the patience to wait it out, after all.
Only a couple of days ago ViewSonic launched its ViewPad 4 and now we have rumours about a new 7-inch tablet from the company that will allegedly go under the name ViewPad 7x. It doesn't seem to have much in common with the original ViewPad 7 beyond the size of the screen, although we're not looking at a direct replacement either as the ViewPad 7 will stick around as ViewSonic's budget tablet offering.
On Tuesday, ViewSonic launched two new smartphones, although the company prefers to call one of them a tablet for some reason. Apparently ViewSonic has an arbitrary limit that devices with screens 4-inches and below are smartphones, whereas devices with screens 4.1-inches and above are tablets. As such we have the ViewPad 4, 4.1-inch "tablet" and the V350 3.5-inch smartphone.

After its success with the ViewPad 7, ViewSonic is continuing to expand its lineup of tablets and at the Mobile World Congress we got to spend a few minutes with ViewSonic's latest additions, the ViewPad 4 and ViewPad 10s as well as its new dual-SIM 3G Android handset, the V350. Sadly we didn't get a chance to see the ViewPad 10Pro, as ViewSonic had some problems with the demo unit when we visited their booth.
