So the Android operating system is a hit and even Google wants to get in to the game by releasing the occasional 'Google phone' that boasts premium hardware and access to the latest firmware version of Android. But for a smartphone OEM to churn out a “Yahoo Phone”? Don't be surprised, but that is exactly what SoftBank in Japan has done with its new smartphone that is every bit the Yahoo-equivalent of those Google phones we have been reading all about.

Following rumors that Yahoo is trying to offload its popular social bookmarking service, Delicious, many opportunistic parties have taken advantage of the chaos and come up with their own Delicious boomark importers. Web service provider Yahoo! said it will be streamlining its business and plans to shut down some of their services. Among the services that may be affected are social bookmark Delicious; online news aggregator Buzz; and search site AlltheWeb and Altavista.
This afternoon, Yahoo! Singapore treated the local media to a preview of their latest Yahoo! Mail Beta and Yahoo! Messenger Beta. The Yahoo! Mail Beta was recently launched in US, well, you can try it out today (http://features.mail.yahoo.com/). The new Yahoo! Messenger beta isn't available yet, but the company assures us it is coming very soon.
Remember the agreement signed between Microsoft and Yahoo! a long time back (a whole year, to be precise)? It seems that some of the terms and conditions of that agreement has already been implemented: starting today, Yahoo! USA and Canada will have its search engine powered by Microsoft’s Bing.
