Want to write for us? VR-Zone is currently looking for writers, particularly those with an interest in computer hardware, gadget reporting and science reporting. While long form features or series pitches will be considered, SEO-inspired "guest contributions" will be summarily deleted.
Heavy preference goes to native English speakers and those with prior experience. Experience in reporting on computer hardware trends and/or science is not necessarily required as we will consider someone with solid experience who can demonstrate in-depth knowledge of either of those two fields.
Those interested in reporting on computer hardware should already be an avid reader of titles like Anandtech, The Verge, or Wired. We want people that know and love computer hardware, but also can report on it to a technical audience. Previous experience at a hardware blog, or IT publication, would be a huge advantage. We want more than just reporting on news, we want you to explain why things are happening.
Prospective gadget reporters should be familiar both with the hardware and business side of the gadget business. Why does MIPS matter? What’s the biggest threat to established chip giant Qualcomm? Why does it matter that Apple is building a R&D facility in Taiwan? These are the kind of questions we want you to answer.
For science reporting, we are looking for in-depth explainers about trends in science or new discoveries. You don’t need to have an academic background in science, just the ability to explain an issue and discuss its implications with the audience. Popular Science is a great model to base your writing for us on.
